As both a former career youth leader and now a member of the team at Dare 2 Share, I’ve had the privilege of attending and learning from dozens of youth ministry conferences over the past 25 years. From denomination-specific gatherings to massive national events featuring the biggest names in youth ministry, I’ve seen just about everything.

And although each of them offered something of value, I’ve also learned the hard way that not every event delivers a solid return on investment. When you consider the time, money, and energy you pour into these events—for both you and your team—it’s essential to evaluate what’s truly worth it.

Why all Youth Ministry Conferences are not created equally

I’ve walked away from events feeling inspired and recharged—and I’ve also left feeling disappointed, overwhelmed, or even discouraged. Some conferences were noticeably lacking in Scripture, featured speakers who were later found to have moral failings, or were so unfocused that I left feeling more confused than when I arrived.

After decades of trial and error, I’ve developed a personal checklist of what makes a youth ministry conference worth attending. Below are the five elements I now consider essential. If an event doesn’t include most of these—or ideally all—it doesn’t make my list.

Five non-negotiables for a conference that will make a lasting difference in your ministry:

1. A scriptural foundation

This should go without saying, but sadly, some youth ministry conferences barely mention the name of Jesus from the platform. Others rely more on personal opinions, clever ideas, or self-promotion than the actual Word of God.

A worthwhile conference should put Scripture at the center of every main session, workshop, and resource. Illustrations and strategies can be helpful, but they should never replace solid biblical teaching. If a speaker’s new book gets more airtime than the Bible, that’s a red flag.

2. Theological alignment

At some large conferences, I found myself resonating with one speaker’s message only to feel blindsided by the next—someone whose theology was radically different than mine. The experience can feel like being spiritually “dissed”—disoriented, discouraged, and even disturbed.

While you don’t need 100% agreement on every minor theological point, I suggest ensuring the event and its speakers align with these five foundational areas:

  • God
  • God’s Son
  • God’s Spirit
  • God’s Word (as the core of every message)
  • The Gospel (clearly communicated)

If those are solid, you’re off to a good start.

3. Practical ideas you can actually use

I love a good, inspiring message. But inspiration without application won’t lead to transformation.

The best conferences equip you with practical tools and real-life strategies you can immediately implement in your ministry. Look for sessions that not only encourage you but also challenge you to take action—and give you the steps to do it.

4. Nurturing for your entire team

When your volunteers are equipped, encouraged, and aligned with your vision, your entire ministry is strengthened. I’ve always prioritized events that allowed me to bring my team—and better yet, invested in their growth right alongside mine.

There’s something powerful about dreaming, learning, and strategizing together. It creates momentum that carries over long after the conference ends.

5. Not too short, not too long—just right

Time is always a factor, and short, one-day events can seem attractive. But I’ve found that they’re often too rushed to bring lasting impact. On the flip side, weeklong youth ministry conferences tend to be exhausting and overwhelming—so much content that it’s hard to implement anything.

Some events even encouraged us to skip sessions and take naps. (And yes, I love naps—but I didn’t pay to nap.) The sweet spot? About three days. Enough time to reflect, learn, and connect without feeling overloaded or drained.

Why The Energize Youth Ministry Conference Rises Above the Rest

I’m so excited about Energize, Dare 2 Share’s brand-new youth leader conference, because it embodies all five essentials. It’s designed from the ground up to reflect these must-have qualities:

  • Solid theology, centered on Scripture and prayer
  • Speakers who clearly preach the Gospel
  • Practical tools you can implement right away
  • The option to bring your whole team
  • A three-day schedule that’s “just right”

Energize will help you build the kind of youth ministry you’ve always envisioned—one that’s growing and makes disciples who make disciples. You’ll leave with fresh passion and a clear strategy for transformation in your students’ lives.

I hope to see you there!

We’re overwhelmed by how God is working through D2S LIVE. Want to know the most exciting part? This event is still happening as groups participate at different times. Additionally, the tools and passion these students gain will continue to fuel life-changing Gospel conversations in their own circles and communities. Praise Jesus for what He’s doing!

Check out this recap video to see a few highlights from Dare 2 Share LIVE 2024:

What is D2S LIVE “Play to Win” all about?

Dare 2 Share LIVE offers practical, Gospel-centered training in Portuguese, Spanish, and English, delivered by gifted speakers who inspire and equip students to make an eternal impact. Through engaging stories and powerful teachings, they unpack the event theme, Play to Win, based on Paul’s challenge to young Timothy in 2 Timothy 4:1-8.

Students are being equipped to GO preach the Word, FIGHT for the Truth, and WIN the ultimate reward. Confidence is rising, lives are being transformed, and the ripple effect of the Gospel is spreading far and wide!

Students are trained to share the Gospel using the G.O.S.P.E.L. acrostic, a powerful tool they can access anytime through the Life in 6 Words app. Then by practicing real conversations, they gain the confidence and skills they need to share Christ effectively. During the outreach time, they put this training into action, engaging their communities with the hope of the Gospel.

The event speakers guide students on how to share in a way that is both relational and compassionate, ensuring the message is shared with clarity and understanding. It’s practical, personal, and life-changing!

Check out a few photos that groups have posted:

God is powerfully at work through Dare 2 Share LIVE, and we can’t wait to hear more incredible stories as students step out boldly in their schools and communities to share the hope of Christ.

Our prayer is that this Gospel momentum will carry on into the new year, inspiring students to faithfully pray, care, share, and use the approach of ask, admire, and admit to connect with their peers on a deeper level.

Join us in praying for lasting impact—on students, their leaders, and the communities they are reaching with the love and truth of Jesus!

You can do Dare 2 Share LIVE 2024 whenever works best for your group! Join the thousands of other youth ministries around the globe who are already leveraging our Dare 2 Share LIVE video event resource. It’s a transformative experience for students that not only strengthens their faith but provides activation in your youth ministry for reaching the lost. There are many ways to participate in this event, below are 10 ideas to help jumpstart the brainstorming process for you!

10 Ways to Use This Video Event Resource

  1. Break it into pieces: Don’t have time to do it all at once? You can split it up into as many sessions as needed. This provides you with weeks of curriculum!
  2. Use it as youth group curriculum: Go through it over the course of a few weeks with your students and leaders.
  3. Make a weekend event out of it: Make it into a one-day or two-day special event with your students, and even invite other churches and church members to join.
  4. Use it to prep your students for mission trips coming up. This video event is great training for how to share the Gospel with others relationally, and it provides real-time practice for doing it if you utilize the allotted outreach time. Therefore, it would be great practice and prep for your students and volunteer leaders going on mission trips.
  5. Do you work at a Christian school? Use it as sermon curriculum for your students!
  6. Are you a small group leader? Use it as small group curriculum. This is great if you struggle to find topics to discuss with your students during small group sessions. You can do it over the course of weeks or make it a special event with your group.
  7. Challenge your students to watch the videos and share the Gospel with their friends at school the next day! This would be a fun take-home challenge for your students to participate in when they are not at church. Or, if you have a break in meeting as a group for a while, this would be great filler content.
  8. Partner with churches in your area to create a citywide outreach day. Create a Gospel sharing team, by collaborating with other churches, to reach your whole community with the Gospel. Split groups up and send them to different locations in the city for sharing time, to increase reach.
  9. Make it a Sunday-morning series. If you need a Sunday school sermon series, this will make great curriculum to split into different sessions. Then the final day can be an outreach experience for students in the nearby community.
  10. Make a retreat out of it: Use it as retreat content for your students. It is great if you are near a town and can take your students to share the Gospel with others.

This event is flexible to the needs of your group. You can make it as simple or involved as you desire. Be as creative as you would like! You can even get your students involved in the planning. The resource is offered in EnglishSpanish, and Portuguese. It is a game-changing event that will transform your students and ministry into Gospel sharing warriors!

3 – Decide your level of involvement

There are many different ways to customize the event for your unique context.

  • Stream it with your group – download and play the event videos with your group. All you need is a device to play them on, and plans for the outreach portion.
  • Make it more involved – you can make Dare 2 Share LIVE more interactive for your group by providing your own worship band and acting as emcee yourself.
  • Make it a community event – bring together other churches in your area to reach your community with the Gospel. Link together to start a community wide teen-led movement of Gospel conversations.

4 – Plan your outreach activity

One of the most critical and exciting parts of Dare 2 Share LIVE is the outreach experience. Students will go out into their own communities to serve and share the message of Jesus. They get a chance to put what they learned to action and see God work firsthand!

Make your plans now and decide what your group will do for outreach during the event. Check out this PDF to spark some ideas for what you could do with your group.

You can also include your students in promotion and social media, allow them to get creative!

8 – Get other churches involved

The church is strongest when it is united, and what better way to bring people together than advancing the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Find ways to rally other groups and churches together in your community.

You can also check out this video for great ideas on how to start networking with other churches.

9 – Download the Life in 6 Words app

The Life in 6 Words app provides an interactive and engaging way to naturally initiate spiritual conversations. This tool helps students walk someone through a clear message of the Gospel and the hope found in Jesus Christ, as well as track the number of conversations they have.

The post 7 Years in a Row – How Dare 2 Share LIVE is transforming Eric’s youth ministry and community! appeared first on Dare 2 Share.

]]>

Most youth events aren’t transformational, and they often don’t go beyond the 4 walls of the youth room. But Dare 2 Share LIVE, a free video event that unites groups worldwide to be equipped and mobilized for sharing the Gospel, is different! Youth Leader, Eric has seen the impact of the event extend much further than the day or walls of the church. He has seen his community change, other churches get involved, and ultimately students transformed in their faith and passion for reaching the lost.  Eric has participated year after year with an increasing number of students and has even brought other churches into this game-changing experience. Keep reading to find out from Eric why this event has made such an impact.

Eric has a lot to share about his Dare 2 Share LIVE experience:

Eric’s group has been participating in Dare 2 Share LIVE for the past seven years. What began with 125 students and leaders from 6-7 churches has now grown to over 300 participants from 13-14 churches. Each year, Eric hypes up the event big time, hanging a sign with the new theme that participating students get to sign, and creating theme-related shirts for everyone. He even developed a dedicated webpage where students can register, choose their shirt size, and select their meal options.

He says he puts so much effort into this event because of its profound impact on his students and ministry. He stated, “doing this has kept evangelism as a primary focus in our ministry.” “It isn’t the only way we make this a focus, but it’s a different approach that rallies our group and other groups in our community together.” He emphasizes that it has “changed our ministry culture and continually reminds students that this is what we are called to do as Christians, and we provide practical tools to do it.” “For us, this event is the springboard for our focus for the rest of the year.”

Eric has also seen how Dare 2 Share LIVE helps his students overcome their fears about evangelism, stating,

“at first, they walk in fearful of sharing their faith or having a conversation with a friend, but the event breaks down that wall of fear and gives them concrete ways to do it, which is reinforced by the application piece.”

The application portion is what we call the, “outreach experience” which is when the students go out into their communities and have real-time Gospel conversations!

Dare 2 Share LIVE versus other youth outreach events:

When asked what sets Dare 2 Share LIVE apart from other events, Eric highlighted its excellence in production, design, and execution. He praised the event for delivering “high-level, top-notch quality content that is Biblically grounded and relevant for students.” But what truly sets it apart for Eric is that it “isn’t just about information or Gospel fluency—it challenges students to put what they’ve learned into action right then and there.”

This hands-on approach has profoundly impacted his group, giving them “a significant boost in evangelism and in caring for their friends with the Gospel.” Eric credits Dare 2 Share LIVE with helping keep evangelism a top priority in their ministry.

The bigger impact Dare 2 Share is having on Eric’s community

Eric Groezinger has seen remarkable outcomes from Dare 2 Share LIVE that extend beyond just his youth group. With over a dozen other churches joining in, the event is rallying the Christian community within his city in Iowa around a unified vision—Christ’s vision. This collaboration has led to many community members hearing the Gospel message from the hundreds of students and leaders participating and engaging across the area.

Hosting an event of this scale requires significant adult participation behind the scenes. Eric noted that as these adults serve, they experience their own transformation. “When they serve in this capacity, their eyes open and their heads turn as they hear the Gospel-sharing stats posted by Dare 2 Share throughout the event and see what the students are doing—not to mention being gripped by the session content as well,” he shared. This has sparked excitement among the adults, with many eager to join the students in sharing the Gospel. Each year, the buzz grows, and more adult members want to be part of what God is doing among the students.

Eric also loves how Dare 2 Share LIVE shows students that their ministry is taking Christ’s calling seriously, emphasizing it as a core value rather than treating it as a one-time event to check off the list. He recounted a story where, after one year’s event, two students approached him and said, “we need to take this even deeper.” Recognizing the importance of what they learned and the fire that was ignited, they asked if they could form a group to go out once a month and share the Gospel in the community. Eric immediately agreed, noting how perfectly this aligns with another one of Dare 2 Share’s initiatives called Go Share Day. His students still do this almost every month, and Eric proudly shared that this commitment has “permeated the culture of his group.”

Another awesome story from last year’s Dare 2 Share LIVE event:

Eric stated that he has many stories that highlight the transformative power of Dare 2 Share LIVE, but one that stands out involves a couple of middle school boys. Initially, they appeared timid and unsure when they arrived at the event. Before the outreach portion of the day, they seemed hesitant about everything. But once they began sharing the Gospel, something clicked. After sharing a few times, they became fully engaged, determined to reach as many people as possible. They were so enthusiastic that they ran out of the Life in 6 Words Gospel cards that have the G.O.S.P.E.L acrostic on them that they were giving out to each person they shared with. Then just ten minutes before the outreach time was over, they came running back to the church to get even more Life in 6 Words Gospel cards so they could share the message with a few more people before time was up!

Check out the higlight video from Eric’s most recent Dare 2 Share LIVE event:

Dare 2 Share LIVE has impacted Eric’s group so profoundly that it has become a consistent part of his ministry strategy.

Dare 2 Share LIVE has become a cornerstone of Eric Groezinger’s ministry, transforming his group in profound ways. His students are on fire for reaching others with the Gospel message, and this fire has remained strong year after year as they continue to participate in the event and GO Share Day each month. This dedication has led to the creation of a network of churches eager to reach their community, amplifying their collective impact. These networks, united with groups across the globe participating in Dare 2 Share LIVE in their unique contexts, are propelling the largest teen-led evangelistic movement of all time. Ministries all over the world are experiencing transformative impacts like Eric’s is whilst impacting their communities, cities, and regions with the Gospel truth. It is so inspiring to see!

When asked what he would say to youth ministry leaders who have never participated in Dare 2 Share LIVE, Eric offered this challenge:

“Ask yourself how you are equipping your students with a heart for sharing the Gospel. Is what you are doing effective? If it’s not, or honestly, even if it is, check out Dare 2 Share LIVE. It provides you with a way that is relevant, engaging, Biblical, Gospel-centered, and practical. If you really want to see students trained, equipped, and unleashed with a heart to reach their friends, this is the event to kickstart that.”

Register your group for FREE for Dare 2 Share LIVE and watch your students’ hearts transform as they develop a genuine desire to reach their friends with Christ. It’s truly a game-changing event that makes a lasting impact!

At Lead THE Cause (LTC) 2024, our week-long summer camp intensive, 450 students and leaders gathered to be trained and mobilized to share the Gospel. Each day had a specific focus:

  • prayer day
  • share day
  • care day
  • dare day

Students were equipped then sent to live out what they learned through a practical activity. They learned to pray deeply, care for others with Christ’s love, and share their faith with the lost. They concluded the week by strategically planning how to apply what they learned back home and being commissioned to go and do it. It was a powerful week!

God’s hand over the week was evident, as students truly embraced His calling, and lives were changed.

During the weeklong event hosted at Colorado Christian University:

  • 450 students and youth leaders attended
  • 1,686 total Gospel conversations took place
  • 42 total decisions for Christ were made

Celebrate with us the incredible courage these students displayed throughout this event. Their dedication to reaching the lost and how they grew in their faith, is a testament to God’s provision and purpose for our lives.

LTC 24 Pic Collage

Throughout this year’s events and sessions, students were inspired to “Level Up” by striving to live as Christ’s ambassadors in a world full of dangers (seen and unseen). They took on Ephesians 6:10-20 as their battle cry “fearlessly making known the mystery of the gospel.” They realized the reality of the power within them through the Holy Spirit and the protection provided by the truth of God’s Word.

It was amazing to see students embrace the full armor of God, piece by piece, as they learned from speakers Greg Stier, Zane Black, and Jerrod Gunter. They were empowered for Christ’s calling and grew confident in His presence and guidance.

Here’s what students, leaders, and one of the speakers had to say about LTC:

Last day of Lead the Cause We had over 50 conversations and 19 of them we were able to share the Gospel! We also got to strategize how to use what we learned to Lead the Cause back home. We are looking forward to see what the Holy Spirit with do through these students.” – Youth Leader

“Life changing is about the only word that describes this past week at Lead The Cause. I had the privilege of being asked to go along with our Mission Baptist Youth group figuring I would help all I could and learn some, not realizing how impacted I myself would be. A switch has been flipped in my life and I’m ready to live a Gospel advancing life!” – Youth Leader

“There may be a cost, but I know it’s worth it #leadthecause” – Student, about sharing the Gospel with their worlds

“Warfare was real at LTC ‘24….but our weapons are real …we flipped the switch! (IYKYK 💯) We are equipping a generation that is exposing the schemes and plans of the enemy; that is calling out lukewarm living and being the example of “all in”…we bringing back the all in Believer! We raising the standard…these young leaders are gonna be a nightmare to the darkness.” – Speaker, Jerrod Gunter

“Lead The Cause in Lakewood Colorado was amazing this year. I got the privilege to make many new friends, and I hope I’m able to go back next year. #leadthecause” – Student

Check out this video to see highlights from the week:

Lead THE Cause was a transformative week for students and leaders, and we can’t wait to see how their ministries change as a result. This event changed lives, with many in Denver reached with the Gospel, as well as the friends and family members of LTC students as they sent letters and made phone calls sharing the Gospel. And the impact will continue as students take what they learned into their schools to reach their peers.

We can’t wait to see what God does at next year’s event!

Dare 2 Share LIVE 2024 is going to be epic!

Dare 2 Share LIVE is coming back, and it’s going to be transformative as students are mobilized to reach the lost in their communities and go out to actually do it. Dare 2 Share LIVE is a FREE youth ministry video event that leaders can bring to their communities, designed to spark a movement of teen-led Gospel conversations.

This November, the latest Dare 2 Share LIVE video event will be released! This year’s theme is…Play To Win” based on Paul’s charge to young Timothy in 2 Timothy 4:1-8. During this event, students will learn that God wants them on the team — not just someday when they’re older, but TODAY. They will be equipped and ready to GO preach the Word, FIGHT for the Truth, and WIN the reward.

GO preach the Word

Students will be equipped for preaching the Word through engaging video sessions meant to ignite their passion for spreading the Gospel and by practicing having Gospel conversations with each other. They will hear from a variety of speakers throughout the event, helping them really tune in and engage with the content.

The event speakers this year are:

Dare 2 Share LIVE 2024 - Speakers

FIGHT for the Truth

Students will be challenged to fight for the Gospel truth to be made known by living out Christ’s calling to go and make disciples. They will be inspired to do this through the messages, and by what the Bible says about Christ’s purpose for them, as well as the eternal realities for those who don’t know Him. One way they will interact with these concepts is through a drama included in the video content.

This year’s drama will touch on judgement day for the believer based on 1 Corinthians 3:11-15, “For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.”

WIN the Reward

Not only will students be equipped to preach the Word and inspired to fight for the truth, but they will also be empowered and unleashed to lead others to Christ—the ultimate reward! They will have a chance to put this into practice during the designated outreach time, where leaders will plan an outreach activity.

Here’s what participating youth groups from around the world posted during Dare 2 Share LIVE 2023:

“God is at work in this generation to make disciples of all nations.” (United States)

“These 5 students… saw 3 fellow students come to know Jesus! …there is nothing random about random evangelism!” (Canada)

“After this event we will continue believing, proclaiming, and making Christ’s cause a reality: Cuba for Christ!” (Cuba)

“88 Gospel Conversations… 15 placed faith in Jesus… thank you, Jesus!” (Liberia)

One leader posted this about his student a few days after participating in the event:

“Just had one of my volunteers, who is a substitute teacher, text me.

She said, ‘Saw Eliah in the hall just now at the high school, and we went through the G.O.S.P.E.L. together. Pretty cool.’

Practicing the G.O.S.P.E.L. in the hallways of the high school! Just had to share.”

Dare 2 Share LIVE 2024 is going to be incredible. Students around the world are going to become Gospel-sharing disciple makers, creating a youth-led evangelism movement!

You can plan the event for whichever day works best for your group or join us for the global day of youth evangelism kicking off Saturday, November 9. On that day, from sunrise to sunset, youth groups all around the globe will be sharing the Gospel, creating a 24-hour wave of change and transformation.

This event is also offered in Spanish: “El Juego Ha Comenzado!” This allows the event to reach Spanish-speaking groups globally, impacting more communities and teens, and increasing the amount of countries represented during the event.

Register for “Play to Win” for FREE to get your students in this movement. When you register, you’ll get access to pre-event resources and tips to help you plan an unforgettable and transformative day for your group.

Give your students the chance to change lives and embrace Jesus’ calling through Dare 2 Share LIVE 2024!

“In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of His appearing and His Kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.

For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing.”

Lead THE Cause has been life changing for Claira and her youth group.

Claira first got involved with Dare 2 Share by attending a Dare 2 Share LIVE event with her youth ministry, where she learned about Lead THE Cause (LTC). During this period of time, she felt there was something missing in the youth group she led, but she couldn’t pinpoint what it was. She ended up connecting with another youth leader who had an extra ticket for Lead THE Cause that year, and she decided to attend by herself to see what it was all about.

During the week, after experiencing the different sessions and activities, Claira realized it was exactly what her youth group needed to grow.

She was deeply moved by the prayer day activity, during which groups walked around Columbine High School and the Memorial site where the school shooting occurred in 1999, offering prayers. Claira ended up returning to the Columbine Memorial on her own on the last day of Lead THE Cause.  As she walked slowly through the memorial and started crying hard, she felt like God was telling her that “this is the reason why you’re a youth leader.”

Claira was further moved when she heard Greg Stier, one of the event speakers, ask “where were the Christian teens [before the shooting occurred?],” and it really stuck with her. The idea that her students could be the ones to bring the light of the Gospel into the dark places in their schools was powerful.

By the end of the week, she saw the importance of Lead THE Cause and how it was equipping teens to share the Gospel with their friends and peers at school. Claira remembers, she was so excited to get home and tell her family and pastor that this was something her youth group needed to attend.

Claira returned the next year with 9 teens and 3 leaders. It was an incredible time, but when they returned home, she was met with discouragement as she experienced medical issues and had to step away from leading the group. Many teens began to take less favorable paths and she felt like she had failed them.

But she found renewed strength when her nephew, one of the students who had attended LTC, reminded her of what Jerrod, one of the event speakers, had said. He had warned them during the last night, up in the mountains of Colorado, that when they got back home the devil was going to attack heavily, and he did.

Things began to turn around after Claira attended the Gospel Advancing Summit event for youth leaders the next spring. She felt like she was able to hit refresh and she decided to return with her group to Lead THE Cause again that summer.

This past year, she brought 7 teens, her father who is her church’s associate pastor, and her brother. After seeing how much the teens were impacted, they are now fully on board with her youth ministry strategy.

Now she feels like she has reinforcements, and she has more support. One of the attending teens even asked: “Why aren’t we doing this in our hometown?” Now they are trying to make an effort to bring the Lead THE Cause training to her community.

Claira shared, “not only has Lead THE Cause impacted my life, but Dare 2 Share has too, Dare 2 Share is my family now and I cherish each and every staff member!”

Want to see these changes in your group?

Find that missing piece that leads to growth, just like Claira did, through Lead THE Cause.

Lead THE Cause is a one-week intensive that equips and activates students and leaders to share their faith. Each day has a different focus as groups receive training in praying for their friends, caring for them with the love of Christ, and sharing the Gospel in a clear and relational way. The week concludes with groups being dared to live out what they’ve learned as they head home by creating a strategic action plan. In addition to the training, each day, students and leaders will put into practice what they’ve learned through a prayer experience, care experience, and a faith-sharing experience.

Your group won’t just go home trained in leading others and sharing the Gospel, but you will all go home knowing you can do it, because you all did it at Lead THE Cause! Claira’s group is a great example of the effect this week can have. Not only will one week at Lead THE Cause make a huge impact, but returning year after year will build upon the momentum and keep your group going strong.

When you prioritize Jesus’ call, You will see your ministry thrive.

Many leaders talk about evangelism in their youth group, and often will even do a community service project to check off the evangelism box for the year, but is this really what is going to instill a lifelong passion for Gospel-sharing within students?

Matthew 28:19-20 states: “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore GO and make disciples of all nations,  baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Jesus doesn’t want us to just check off a box, He wants us to make evangelism a part of our lifestyle. When students grasp this and choose to go all in, they not only change their communities, but their faith grows strong.

This is easier said than done, which is why the team at Dare 2 Share created an event that lays the evangelism training foundation for you and your students. Dare 2 Share LIVE “Let’s Go,” is available via on-demand videos now! This resource will equip your students for evangelism and instill a lifelong passion in them for Gospel conversations as they go out into their communities to share. They get to see lives change before their eyes and build confidence for continuing to share their faith.

But, don’t take it from us, take it from a leader who attended last year: Mr. Bill.

Mr. Bill's Dare 2 Share LIVE Story

A long-time friend of Dare 2 Share, he’s affectionately known in his youth group as “Mr. Bill.” His youth ministry was transformed by Dare 2 Share events, and he is now a Gospel Advancing leader who is mobilizing his students to share the Gospel. When his group put on a Dare 2 Share LIVE event, he saw a major shift in mindset within his students.

He tells a story about one of the youth leaders in his group named Shawn. Shawn started out the outreach experience by going and sharing the Gospel first, which is something Dare 2 Share encourages – the leader going first and giving an example for the students. Shawn talked with a firefighter, laying out the Gospel the way the students were taught by the Dare 2 Share LIVE speakers. The students got to watch this take place and see the Holy Spirit at work.

After this encounter, one of the students shared her thoughts with Mr. Bill. She said, “it truly wasn’t about Shawn in that moment, it was about loving Jesus and sharing about Him with others.” She continued by stating, “I see now that this is a lifestyle not just something we are doing today.” She realized it is about living life in relationship with Jesus, and sharing His Word with the others we meet along the way.

This story goes to show how much of an impact Dare 2 Share LIVE can have on individual students and ministries. A teen was able to discover this lesson through observing a relational Gospel conversation, and your students have a chance to do the same by using the Dare 2 Share LIVE video resources.

Request free access to the Dare 2 Share LIVE event videos now, and start planning your event. Then watch as your students’ hearts are transformed through the experience, and your ministry too.

Lead THE Cause is a weeklong summer camp alternative that empowers teens to become passionate disciples, equipped with a solid understanding of the Gospel, effective tools for sharing it, and opportunities to engage their communities. Each year, has a new theme that reflects a passage from the Bible, and it is time to reveal this year’s theme.

Drum Roll Please… LTC 2024’s theme is:

“Level Up” based on Ephesians 6
LTC 24 Theme Graphic "Level Up"

Today’s teens are in a spiritual battle, whether they know it or not. LEVEL UP will teach them to be aware of the tools and armor God has given them so that they can stand firm and engage in the fight. They’ll learn that they’ve already been given what it takes to be bold witnesses for Christ in their world, and they will be called to take their spiritual lives and their leadership to the next level.

Students will be challenged to pray fiercely, care deeply, and share the Gospel with those who are lost. They will engage in group sessions, workshops, activities where they will go out and put what they are learning into real time action, and strategic planning for reaching their community back home.

The one week intensive equips students, solidifies what they are learning, and mobilizes them to do it all year long.

You don’t want to miss out on what God is going to do during this week!

Check out what two previously attending leaders wanted to share:

I had a couple students come the first year and they came back on fire, sharing how much of an impact LTC was in their faith and equipping them to reach their friends. The following year we brought nearly 4x the students, and when they went back home they were going into the communities, and sharing their faith with peers and neighbors on their own. One student, in particular, came back after year 2 and shared the Gospel with his basketball coach, started a Bible study with his basketball team, and had a huge heart change.”

“Also, I had a student pull me out during worship at LTC in tears and put razor blades in my hand saying they were done and fully trusting Jesus with their life! LTC has been such a blessing in me and my students lives, as well as in our community.”

– Youth Leader, Carter

“Our students this last year after going to LTC for 2-3 years said GOSPEL Conversations have become “normal” for them. We flew to LTC this year, and on our way back you should have seen their boldness in the airport and on our plane ride home!”

–  Youth Leader, Scott

Check out this case study about what ltc did for a youth group in ohio:

Sign your group up for LTC to ignite students’ passion for discipleship!

Don’t miss out on this transformative summer camp experience if you want to see your students’ faith flourish and their passion for spreading the Gospel ignite. Our camp welcomes students who have never shared their faith before, yet they leave having led multiple Denver community members to Christ, empowered to share the Gospel in their own communities. Register your students now to experience the power the week holds.

Lead THE Cause 2024 will be an amazing week. Your students will have a one-of-a-kind chance to be equipped and mobilized for sharing their faith, so they can continue doing so all year long. Join us and watch your ministry “Level Up” this year.

A student’s first time at Lead THE Cause (LTC) is often the experience that awakens vibrant faith and ignites a passion for sharing the Gospel. We’ve heard tons of stories from students and youth leaders to prove it! Here’s a video that shows a glimpse of the many transformative ways God has worked through these events .But does a second year at LTC hold the same kind of powerful, life-transforming experience as the first year?

High school student Kiley Anderson went to her second Lead THE Cause event a few years ago. Here’s how she describes her alumni experience:

Play Video

Kiley’s Second-Year LTC Testimony

As Kiley explained, first- and second-year students receive different Core training during LTC. Core training is where students dive into Gospel-sharing strategies and practice Gospel conversations with each other. As a returner, Kiley was part of the alumni track, which takes students deeper into the hows and whys of sharing their faith and provides fresh learning opportunities each year. This teaching is specifically designed to strengthen not only their faith, but also their ability to make disciples.

“The Core training has been really cool,” Kiley said. “I’m on the alumni track, and we get to go more into apologetics … instead of just reviewing the basics of sharing the Gospel. We got to learn more about defending our faith, which I think is going to be really helpful.”

Attention, international leaders! Although Lead THE Cause is U.S.-based, you can still train and activate your students through Dare 2 Share LIVE—a free, video-based evangelism-training and outreach experience that can take place anywhere and anytime that works for your group. Click here to learn more.

Another difference between Kiley’s first- and second-year experiences was the outreach time, during which students have Gospel conversations in the real world. “We mixed up our alumni and our rookie kids who hadn’t been here before,” she explained. “Getting to watch them do their first Lead THE Cause experience was really cool.”

If you’re wondering if LTC is worth taking students to for a second or third time, consider how the training, knowledge, and experience of another year will build on what they’ve previously learned at LTC. It could be just what your teens need to strengthen their faith and deepen their love for the lost. Youth pastors often report that things really start to click for their ministry and students if they attend a second year.

“I would recommend Lead THE Cause because in my personal walk … I feel so much closer to Christ,” Kiley said. “I go home feeling closer to Christ and knowing that I can share my faith.”

If you want to see the teens in your youth group grow exponentially in their faith and evangelism skills, don’t wait another minute to look into Lead THE Cause and to sign up for updates and insider info to be sent straight to your inbox.
